BeachExpert Tips & Helpful Hints
  • Sandy beaches and eroded "sea stacks" are famous at Harris Beach State Park. Wildlife enthusiasts should keep an open eye for migrating whales, sea lions, and seals.
  • One of the park's great features is Bird Island (often called Goat Island), the largest island off the Oregon coast. It's a National Wildlife Sanctuary and breeding ground for tufted puffins, among other birds.
  • The park is open year-round, and every season has its own special activities. Of course, it's a great spot for beachcombing any time of year.
