Haystack Rock stands 235 feet high, making it the third-tallest monolith in the world. Adjacent to diverse Oregon Coast, its tide pools brim with starfish, anemone, crabs, chitons, limpets, and sea slugs. The rock is also a refuge for many sea birds including terns and puffins.

  • Located just south of Cannon Beach, this area is best known for its curious history. Before the highway was built, stagecoaches could only travel around the point via the beach. Hug Point got its name from the stagecoach trail that was carved into the point, literally hugging it.
  • Visit the handful of caves around the point, and check out phenomenal views of Haystack Rock.
