The main section of Cannon Beach runs from Chapman Point to Silver Point—almost a four-mile stretch. At about the mid-point is Haystack Rock, the town's most famous landmark.
Needles, the area just south of Haystack Rock, is one of the three top surfing spots in town (along with Short Sands in Oswald West State Park and Indian Beach in Ecola State Park).
