Oregon is big time Lewis and Clark country. The famous expedition wintered here from December 1805 to March 1806.
The Memorial includes a reconstructed fort, historical exhibits, a canoe landing, and a visitor center. It also has trails winding through the wetlands and Pacific rainforest—the very same areas that L & C trekked through on their epic journey of discovery.
In the summer, living history interpreters demonstrate what life from a fort was like.
