Yes, it's a strip plaza in a city that's overrun with them, but it doesn't get any gayer than this. The bright-yellow Shoppes of Wilton Manors, the epicenter of the Wilton Manors gayborhood, is home to long-running gay bar Georgie's Alibi, which has decent bar food, multiple video screens, and a sizable outdoor patio; the gay dance bar Boom (smoking allowed); oh-so queer shops like Bottoms and Tops; bustling Main Street Gym; and several other gay businesses. It's also ground zero when the Stonewall Street Festival unfolds along Wilton Drive in June. In other words, it's hard to do gay Lauderdale without passing through its packed parking lot.
