Closed to traffic and far from the hoity-toity hotels and boutique beaches of South Florida, Hollywood North Beach Park is a serene spot that beckons to beachgoers in need of a little relaxation. The park's 55 acres cater to those who crave only a quiet square of sand, as well as snorkelers, boaters, and swimmers. Fishermen claim their posts on the the two-mile boardwalk, which is also open to bikers. Grub is sold right on the beach, or you can pack a few sandwiches and enjoy lunch in one of four picnic areas. There's even a sea turtle hatchery—part of the Endangered Sea Turtle Protection and Relocation Program.
