Falling some 300 feet, Middleham Falls caps an hour-and-a-half walk through Dominica's pristine rain forest. Trails are well defined and start from both the Laudat and Cochrane sides. Some scrambling is required towards the end as one descends to the falls.

  • Trails leading to the falls are often wet and slippery. Wear sturdy shoes or boots, and expect to get muddy.
  • Take a water-resistant bag to protect your camera, iPod, or other electronic gear from waterfall spray. Wear a swimsuit under your hiking clothes so you can swim in the cold-water pool at the falls.
  • For the best experience, join a guided tour or hire a private guide for the two- to three-hour round trip.
