A local's dining establishment, Plasa Bieu is near the Old Market, just beyond the Queen Wilhelmina footbridge and down the street from the Floating Market. Here locals serve copious amounts of regional cuisine like stewed goat and fresh fish in a chaotic yet convivial atmosphere at a fraction of the price found in the surrounding restaurants.

  • For those who like to eat what (and where) the locals eat, this is the place. Expect chaotic collections of pots and frying pans spread across a variety of stations, each with their own menus (which change daily, though goat, fish, and chicken are a constant).
  • Dining takes place at large communal picnic tables. Just snag a seat, and don't be shy. This is a great place to chat up some of the island's friendly locals.
  • Be patient. Getting served can take a while (much like the rest of the island).
