Group tours of the island's lesser-scene attractions led by the affable owner, Eric, or one of his colleagues. Trips typically take about two hours, covering the back roads (and sometimes the main roads) of Curacao. Local guides offer insight into the island's history, the ATVs are of the highest quality, and all riders are required to wear helmets (provided).

• This is hot, dirty fun, and a fantastic way to see the unseen Curacao, from scenic overviews to seldom-seen beaches.
• While parts of the trip are on dirt trails, be prepared to drive on actual roads. But don't be intimidated; the locals are very accommodating.
• The route typically includes stops at the Ostrich Farm and the Aloe Vera Plantation as well as a cave system that's occasionally protected by a swarm of bees (if the bees are out, you won't be going in, of course).

• No experience is necessary. The Honda Ranchers and Bombardier Outlanders have automatic transmissions and are easy to handle.
• Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet and very dirty. Also, wear sneakers, not sandals; sunglasses that fit well; and more sunscreen than you think necessary. Helmets and goggles are provided.
• Kids older than ten can ride on the buddy seat behind an adult.

A guided tour by self-drive all-terrain vehicle is the ideal way to see Curaçao's magnificent countryside. Eric and his knowledgeable staff map out a route of either the eastern or western end of the island, go through a safety briefing, and allow riders to practice in the dirt parking lot until they feel comfortable taking their ATV on the road. Depending on the route, rides may include on- and off-road adventures to beaches, caves, farms, and out-of-the-way refreshment stands. Safety is always top priority, and riders are never pushed into uncomfortable situations, but when groups are made up of experienced riders, guides may pick up the speed or go to more isolated areas with rougher terrain.
