Divers in the National Curacao Underwater Park (Nathan Borchelt)

Established in 1983, this 1,500-acre national marine park encompasses Curacao's underwater terrain from New Port to the island's southeastern tip. With restrictions on fishing and other intrusions, the park contains Curacao's most pristine coral reef and marine environment, as well as numerous ship wrecks, some dating back almost 100 years. Not surprisingly, it is a haven for divers and snorkelers.
