Parks and OutdoorsExpert Tips & Helpful Hints
  • Travel this trail which runs 38 miles through Connecticut, connecting disparate forested areas and passing through suburban places as well. Many features are situated along the way, including Black Rock State Park and Mattatuck State Forest. Start the path in Wolcott follow it all the way to Litchfield.
  • Be aware that the trail can be rocky, swampy and not well-maintained in some areas. If you follow the trail as it passes through developed parks you should be fine.
  • Buttermilk Falls is a good destination, especially for those who enjoy the winter months. The falls freeze into a giant icicle.
