  • Once a working gold mine, Country Boy Mine gives visitors an authentic look at mining 100 years ago--1,000 feet underground. The tour, complete with hard hats and drilling sound effects, takes 45 minutes, but stay a couple of hours to pan for gold, slide down the 55 foot ore chute, and meet the mine's friendly burros.
  • The mine is a constant 45 degrees year-round, meaning it feels cold in summer and relatively warm in winter. Wear a jacket and dress in layers, and make sure everyone in the family wears appropriate walking shoes.
  • Tours depart every hour on the hour, but days vary with the season, so check in advance. Ages three and younger are free.
