This trail takes off from the Fall River Reservoir Road and goes up through a wooded area to the lakes. It is a short, easy hike to Chinns Lake. There are potential campsites along the trail. The trail continues around Chinns Lake to Sherwin Lake and can be followed on to Slater Lake. All the lakes offer fair fishing. This short but steep hike is available to almost everyone.
Directions: From Idaho Springs, Take I-70 west to exit 238. Take Fall River Road to the Fall River Reservoir Road, 6.5 miles from I-70. Go 2.5 more miles on this road to Chinns Lake turnoff. The trail begins here.
