This trail originates at the Hessie Townsite on an old road that turns into a trail leading through montane forests to King Lake. It passes below the Moffat Road Railroad over Rollins Pass and up steep meadowy basins in the last mile. The traveler can also take the Bob and Betty Trail which intersects the King Lake Trail. This trail starts on private lands. Please respect it and stay on the trail.
