The official name for the trail is "Dogtown Lake Trail #744". This trail provides visitors a pleasant route for a stroll around the lake. Another purpose for the trail is to prevent trampling damage to the immediate lake shore. The trail is maintained by the Williams Rotary Club.

The trail follows an old road on the south shore, then goes around a cove, back through the fence and across the west end of the lake.

Directions: From Williams, Take Fourth Street (County Road 73) south about 4 miles to the junction with Forest Road 140. Turn left and go about 3 miles to FR 132; turn left onto FR 132 and continue about one mile to the Dogtown Recreation Area.Paved and all-weather graveled roads suitable for passenger vehicles. FR 140 is a high-clearance road and can become rough during peak season.

Elevation Gain: 200 feet

Distance: 1.8 miles
