  • Known as one of the best bird-watching beaches in California, two-mile-long McGrath State Park Beach is popular with a rich variety of birds. Surfers love it too.
  • This is where the Santa Clara River flows down to the sea, and the north part of the park is Santa Clara Estuary Natural Preserve. It's a habitat not just for birds but also for weasels, tortoises, and other mammals. Take the nature trail to see it all.
  • Swimmers at this beach should use extreme caution to avoid the strong rip currents.
