Pull up a beach chair while more than 20,000 Pacific gray whales swim through the channel as they migrate between Alaska and Baja California. From mid-February to mid-May, mothers and calves keep close to the coastline. Channel Islands Harbor celebrates the annual migration with daily whale-watching excursions from the end of December to mid-April. For a fun and informative journey through history, peruse the country's largest display of Prisoner of War bone and wooden ship models at the Maritime Museum.
