Pacifica State Beach is one of the most popular surfing spots in the San Francisco area. Known as Linda Mar Beach among local surfers, it fronts Pacifica's Linda Mar subdivision. The wide, crescent-shaped beach marks the northern gateway to the coastline stretching south of San Francisco.

Surfers and kayakers flock to this sandy bay year-round, especially on weekends (a good time to avoid). Part of the draw is due to it's swimmer-friendly status—Linda Mar is the first beach south of San Francisco to welcome swimmers and watersports fanatics.
