Pismo State Beach offers a variety of activities including hiking, swimming, surf fishing, bird-watching, and digging for famous Pismo clams. The park also has the largest over-wintering colony of monarch butterflies in the United States.

  • This park actually has Wi-Fi, and though nature is better enjoyed without an awkward laptop in tow, you can use the handy Internet service to check nature center offerings at Central Coast Natural History Association.
  • If you can't decide between the beach and golf, there's good news: Pismo Beach State Park has its own 9-hole, par-3 golf course. When you finish playing, grab a bite at the nearby seafood restaurant.
