The Giant Chessboard of Morro Bay is one of the world's largest chess sets. It is located on the Embarcadero and features three-foot-tall chess pieces that each weigh from 18 to 30 pounds. It also is the site of an annual chess game featuring human pieces. You can also play chess with normal-size boards and pieces at the chess tables surrounding the giant board.
