  • This family-owned aquarium on Embarcadero is small, with a focus on rehabilitating and training.
  • The main attractions are three sea lions and a harbor seal, brought here because of injury or abandonment. A highlight for visitors of all ages is feeding the sea lions.
  • There are also 14 tanks full of marine animals, including fish, octopus, eel, and abalone.

Humans know more about animals now than they did 50 years ago, when this place was built. Scientific research has established that yes, animals are sentient beings and have needs. Sadly, the owners have not kept up with the times, and the living conditions here are shockingly inhumane by today's standards. The owners are, I think, lying to the public when they state that they are rehabilitating wildlife. From what I've read in a local paper, they purchased most of their animals from Sea World. Besides, if they were truly rehabilitating marine mammals, wouldn't the seals be released once they had recovered? These seals/sea lion are merely a way for the owners to make a tax-free profit off these animals. This kind of inhumane treatment of intelligent wildlife needs to stopped, once and for all. Shame on you, Morro Bay!

This place is horrible! They claim to be a "rehabilitation" center, yet they buy the seals from Sea World and NO ONE get released. These seals and sea lions are forced to live in tiny cement enclosures that are not much bigger than bathtubs. Terrible!!!
