• Breakwater Way is one of the city's quieter beaches, located just south of Oceanside Harbor. It's popular with surfers and volleyball players.
• Surfing is restricted during the summer. Surfers must walk down to the jetty where the San Luis Rey River enters the ocean. It's a bit of a hike, but when a sandbar forms here, it creates a good surf break.
• Amenities include BBQ grills, fire rings, restrooms and showers. Parking is available, but it's not free.
