Pier View South Beach is Oceanside’s most popular beach. It is often crowded and hosts surfing, body boarding, and body surfing contests in the summer. There are also various events that are held in the Oceanside Pier Amphitheater, and the pier is popular for walking and fishing.

  • Just south of Oceanside Pier, this is the city's most popular beach. All of the surfing, bodyboarding, and bodysurfing contests are held here.
  • During the summer, surfing is restricted. The area from Lifeguard Tower 1 south is closed most of the day. Surfers do have a designated stretch: Lifeguard Tower to 100 feet from the pier.
  • Traveling with a posse? Non-surfers will appreciate the covered picnic tables, BBQ grills, pay phones, and more. The beach is also close to downtown shops and restaurants.
