• Along with amazing displays of sea life, the Birch Aquarium has a number of special tours and programs. One favorite: the full moon pier walk, where you can explore the pier (normally closed to the public), learn about marine research, and even see a squid dissection (ages 9 and older).
• The third Saturday of each month is a SEA Day, where you'll find lots of hands-on activities for all ages on an ocean topic and Scripps scientists who can answer your sea-life questions.
• Check the schedule for animal feeding times, which happen a few times each week. The enormous kelp-forest tank has a half-hour show during which divers point out the kelp's inhabitants.
