After you have enjoyed Champion Lodgepole Pine Trail continue on Bluff Mesa Trail in a northerly direction for 0.4 mile. The trail ends at the popular Bluff Mesa Group Camp, a 40 person site; no drinking water provided. Bluff Mesa Trail is an easy loop trail recommended for families who would like a leisurely walk through beautiful stands of stately Jeffrey pine.
Bluff Mesa Trail is a nice trail on which to enjoy a picnic.
Directions: From Fawnskin/Big Bear Lake, Travel west on Highway 18 and turn east on Hwy. 38. From there you turn right (south) onto Mill Creek Road (Forest Road 2N10). Follow Mill Creek Road for 4.5 miles and turn right (east) onto 2N11 and continue for 1 mile to the trailhead of Champion Lodgepole Pine Trail. Follow Champion Lodgepole trail to its end. This is the trailhead to Bluff Mesa Trail.
