Devil's Slide Trail is a moderate hike that ascends from Humber Park to Saddle Junction with many switchbacks and far reaching views. From an elevation of 6,280 feet the trail gains 1,700 feet. From Saddle Junction, trails lead to San Jacinto Peak (10,804'), the Palm Springs Tramway (8,516'), and Tahquitz Peak Lookout (8,828'). The Pacific Crest Trail passes through Saddle Junction.

Day hike permits for the Devil's Slide Trail are limited on holidays and weekends during the summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day) due to very heavy use. An alternate choice maybe necessary.

Directions: From Idyllwild, CA, Take the Fern Valley Road northeast towards Humber Park. Proceed to the parking area in Humber Park located on the east side of the community of Fern Valley.

Ending Elevation: 7,980 feet

Difficulty: Moderate
