  • Trestles, which is part of San Onofre State Beach, has a world-class reputation as a great surfing site. To get there, take the one-mile trail from the parking lot; if you can't find it, just follow the dude carrying a surfboard.
  • This is a popular, often crowded beach. Head out early if you're going in summer or on a weekend. When parking spots fill, you'll have to wait in line for an opening.
  • Trestle Beach parking lot is at the intersection of Cristianitos Road and El Camino Real.
