Since the closing of local gay staples Boom Boom Room and Woody's at the Beach, Bounce has become the preeminent hub of gay nightlife in Laguna Beach. A two-story affair reminiscent of a classic English pub, Bounce is part bar (downstairs) and part lounge/dance club (upstairs). On any given night, the place is swarming with an attractive and welcoming gaggle of locals, who in all fairness have scarce few other options these days. Steps away from the beach, Bounce is generally buzzing from the time the doors open at 2:00PM until last call at 2:00AM, so there's really no such thing as a bad time to drop by. The music is snazzy, the drinks are strong, and the environment is cozy and attitude-free, which is a far cry from the mood in the majority of gay watering holes in neighboring Los Angeles County. Most endearing of all is the sense of community that permeates the place. It's the kind of thing that seaside communities like Laguna seem to master effortlessly.
