The Ocean Institute offers innovative and award-winning education to students during the week. During the weekend, the center welcomes visitors to observe lab activities, glimpse sea creatures, watch octopus and jellyfish feedings, and even drive Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs).

  • The Ocean Institute is primarily an education facility that works with teachers and school groups to provide ocean science information and more. On weekends, it's open to the public.
  • Families and others can take part in ocean science labs, view sea creatures, even watch jelly fish and octopus feedings. (What do they eat? You'll find out.)
  • Sundays the institute offers a behind-the-scenes look at the their historic brig, Pilgrim. Public hours on weekends are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is an admission charge, and in case you want to spend more, there's also a gift shop.
