Surfing is restricted to the north end of 62-acre Doheny State Beach, which has overnight camping and day-use facilities. The beach has several breaks that draw longboard and beginning surfers. Surf fishing is also a popular activity.

  • Surfing is only allowed on the north end of the beach, the day-use area.
  • Stop in the visitor center for exhibits showing you the types of creatures you might encounter in the park or in the water. In summer, there are public campfire programs three times weekly.
  • There are excellent tidepools along the beach at low tide.
