The Monterey Bay Coastal Trail spans the coastline for 18 miles, from Pacific Grove to Castroville. In Monterey, the trail is open from the aquarium to the Seaside city limits and is used by joggers, skaters, walkers, and cyclists.

  • The Monterey Bay Coastal Trail is part of a linear park and trail system that stretches for nearly 30 miles from Castroville to parts of Pebble Beach, with plans for extensions. The Monterey portion runs from the aquarium to the town of Seaside. Year-round locals and visitors are on the trail on foot, bike, skates, and surreys (which take up a lot of room so watch out for them).
  • Skateboarding is prohibited on much of the trail; if you have questions, read signs and ask locals.
