Rocky Oaks Loop Trail allows you to stop, take a deep breath, and smell the sage as you meander down the trail. Sage is an important part of the chaparral plant community. Chaparral plants, common in the Santa Monica Mountains, are found only in a few places in the world, including the Mediterranean coast, southern California, central Chile, southern Africa and southern Australia. Chaparral plants are adapted to fire and can survive long periods without rain.
Dogs must be on leash at all times. For the consideration of others, please clean up after your pet. Trail closures may be in effect during and following significant rainfall to protect park resources. Trails will be re-opened when dry enough to sustain public use.
Directions: From Westlake Village, CA, Travel US 101 / Ventura Freeway to Highway 23 / Westlake Boulevard. Head south on Hwy. 23 to Mulholland Highway. Turn left (east) on Mulholland Hwy. and proceed to Rocky Oaks.
