Coyote Canyon Trail is a half-mile round trip hike; bicycles prohibited. From the west side of the Western Town, the trail follows a small chaparral-covered canyon and climbs a small knoll overlooking the valley. A short spur trail will take you to a picnic spot with a view. An abundance of eye-catching flora flourish. Given the season, you may see bush sunflower, cliff aster, honeysuckle, ragweed, fuchsia, peony, evening primrose, sawtooth, black sage, and much more. Overlook Trail, combined with Coyote Canyon Trail, make for a pleasant half-day journey.
Dogs must be on leash at all times. For the consideration of others, please clean up after your pet. Trail closures may be in effect during and following significant rainfall to protect park resources. Trails will be re-opened when dry enough to sustain public use.
