Best known for his role as Pancho on The Cisco Kid, Leo Carrillo was also an active conservationist and 18-year member of the California Beach and Parks commission. Along its 1.5 sandy miles, the park has a little something for everyone, from surfing and fishing to swimming and beachcombing. Locals walk their dogs on the shore, where giant tidepools form safe havens for tiny sea creatures. Trails weave through the grounds and mysterious caves, and reefs beckon to curious beachgoers. In summer, tall sycamores shade campers from the hot afternoon sun.
