UCLA's Marina Aquatic Center is located ten miles from the campus and offers sailing classes and clubs, rowing classes, kayaking classes and trips, windsurfing classes and trips, and surfing classes and clinics. It is home to the UCLA Crew Teams, UCLA Sailing Team, MAC Junior Crew team, and the Youth and Junior Boating Programs and classes.

  • Located in Fisherman's Village and operated by the University of California Los Angeles Recreation, the center offers sailing, kayaking, surfing, rowing, and windsurfing instruction and camps.
  • There are set dates for classes and anyone can sign up in advance but UCLA students and staff get first choice. Even if classes are full, you can book a private or semi-private lesson.
  • The center also rents windsurfing and surfing equipment, sailboats and kayaks. Except for sit-on-top kayaks, you must demonstrate ability before renting; skills evaluation is offered for a fee. Note: No windsurfing on weekends in Marina del Rey because of heavy boat traffic.
