Universal CityWalk is a three-block entertainment, dining, and shopping promenade connected to Universal Studios Hollywood in Universal City. CityWalk opened in 1993 and has since been one of Los Angeles's busiest outdoor meeting spots. It's a great place to unwind after a busy day at Universal Studios, with more than 30 eateries; a 19-screen movie theater featuring a six-story IMAX screen; seven hot night spots, including the new Jon Lovitz Comedy Club and Samba Brazilian Steakhouse & Lounge; indoor skydiving; and more than 30 stores. Restaurants include Hard Rock Café Hollywood, Tony Roma's, Wolfgang Puck Café, Puccino Pizzeria, and Tommy's World Famous Hamburgers. Stores include Abercrombie & Fitch; Guess; Sketchers; and, of course, the Universal Studios Stores, where visitors can buy T-shirts, toys, and other souvenirs of their visit to Universal Studios. Be sure to also check out the Shrek 4-D attraction, a one-of-a-kind experience with eye-popping effects. CityWalk is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends, although some businesses do stay open past 11 p.m. It is free to the public.
