The Caye Caulker Marine Reserve is a popular spot for snorkeling, scuba diving, and sportfishing. The reserve includes the turtle grass lagoon adjacent to the Caye Caulker Forest Reserve and the Belize Barrier Reef that runs parallel to the entire caye. Divers often see nurse sharks, loggerhead turtles, squid, cleaner shrimp, and schools of tropical fish.

FamilyExpert Tips & Helpful Hints
  • This is a protected area; let kids know not to step on or touch the coral or any sea creatures.
  • The reef is even more spectacular at night when the corals take on neon bright orange, yellow, and other colors and the night critters come out for food.
