One amazing highlight of the town of Noosa is this wild park, just a ten-minute stroll northeast from the main drag of Hastings Street. With over 1,000 acres fronting the ocean, it's a smorgasbord of towering eucalyptus, koalas, birds, and large goannas (native lizards). The park has no cars, roads, or crowds, and over six miles of walking tracks make for a hiker's delight. A must is a stop at Alexandria Bay (call it "A Bay" if you want to sound local) within the park. This popular nude beach lies under cliffs, and death-defying surfers take on the waves offshore. In true Aussie party style, A Bay is where the annual Alexandria Beach Carnival takes place, with nude sack races, marathons, tug-o-wars, and Conga lines.
