One of the most famous beaches in the Southern Hemisphere, Bondi lives up to its reputation with bars, cafes, surfers, lifeguards, and a huge expanse of sand. This beach, on Sydney's southern flank, attracts a wide swath of followers, from pale tourists to local teenyboppers to gays. Bondi is also one of the easiest beaches to get to, as buses will take you from Bondi Junction in Sydney right to the beach about every ten minutes until midnight. (It can be tough to find parking at the beach, so buses or taxis are the preferred means of transportation for both tourists and locals). If you somehow tire of this marvelous beach, there are two others adjoining that are worth perusing as well: Tamarama, commonly referred to as “Glamorama,” and Bronte.

If the weather is sunny and hot (and it often is), there is no better place to spend the day in Sydney than its beaches, many which attract a loyal gay following. For many years going, the most popular, especially with tourists, is Bondi Beach. The muscle-enhanced gay boys here generally hang out at the north end, in front of the Life Savers Clubhouse, where you may spot Speedo-clad buff straights boys hopping in rowboats. Bondi is also the easiest to get to, as buses will take you from Bondi Junction in Sydney right to the beach about every ten minutes until midnight. (It can be tough to find parking at the beach, so buses or taxis are the preferred means of transportation for both tourists as well as locals.) Bu the action doesn't end at Bondi: Tamarama and Bronte beaches are right next to Bondi, and you can walk along the cliff trails to get to them in about twenty minutes. Bronte is perhaps more romantic than Bondi, and gay couples can generally be affectionate without concern. Tamarama, commonly referred to as "Glamorama," is smaller and beautifully lined with huge boulders, and it's often the preferred choice of the gay locals.
