Awesome scenery, seductive beaches, and splashes of privacy are highlights of this 2.5-mile coastal walk. Begun as a government project during the 1930s, the path starts at the north end of Bondi Beach, at Ben Buckler Point. Follow the coastline south past the Bondi Baths, hammered out of rocks and framed by crashing surf, and then to Tamarama, a sexy cove frequented by Sydney's blonde and bronzed. Farther south is family-oriented Bronte Beach—the surrounding neighborhood is ideal for a casual lunch at one of several surprisingly good beachside cafés. The main path ends at scenic Waverley Cemetery, though the ambitious can continue on to Coogee, another fine beach (and considerably less crowded than its more famous sibling, Bondi).
