This park of just 35 square miles, 45 minutes from Noumea, is a living vault holding New Caledonia's vast biological and botanical riches. While most visitors choose New Caledonia for its glorious beaches and waters teeming with life, the interior rainforests are even more fascinating. The park is home to a 1,000-year-old kauri tree and Amborella trichopoda, the oldest living flowering plant on the planet and the plant from which all flowering plants come.
