This trail leads into the eastern wilderness of Lava Beds National Monument. It can be used in conjunction with trails in Modoc National Forest to form a long backpacking trip.

This is one of the longer trails in Lava Beds National Monument. It begins from the A loop of Indian Well Campground and leads eastward. Approximately four and a half miles from the trailhead the Three Sisters Trail turns sharply westward. It then winds three miles westward to end at the Lyons Trail. Hikers can then turn right and head into the northern wilderness of the monument or turn left and walk one mile southward to the end of Skull Cave Road.

Directions: From Lava Beds Visitor Center, Cross the Hill Road to the campground access road begin your hike from loop A in Indian Well Campground.
