This two-mile long beach is a favorite with surfers, skaters, cyclists, and fishing enthusiasts.
The beach is a nesting sanctuary for the rare and endangered California least tern and for the threatened snowy plover. It's never okay to disturb the birds or nests in any way.
The beach can be accessed from several points along the multi-use path. Some of these access trails have steeper slopes than others; the two at the south end of the beach are easiest.
