With multiple departures daily, Stan Stephens Cruises offers travelers the chance to choose their ideal tour of eastern Prince William Sound. Both the 6.5-hour tour and 9.5-hour tour feature the Columbia Glacier, south-central Alaska's largest tidewater glacier. The longer cruise also features Meares Glacier, an advancing and very actively calving glacier.

  • The price of the trip includes food. The 6.5-hour Columbia Glacier Cruise features clam chowder with a bagel, cream cheese, and cookies. The 9.5-hour Columbia and Meares Glacier Cruise serves hot chicken alfredo on a bed of rice with steamed vegetables, dinner roll, and cookies, and it includes an afternoon snack of clam chowder and crackers. Vegetarian options are available by request.
  • Bring binoculars, cameras, and plenty of film, as well as enough layers to stay comfortably outside in the cold where the views are best. Outlets are available on-board for recharging your camera batteries.
  • You can also see the Columbia Glacier on the ferry trip from Whittier to Valdez, though you'll likely get a better view from the tour boat.
