San Juan Loop Trail offers an easy 2.1-mile hike or mountain bike ride suitable for children. The trail intersects the San Juan Trail. The lower trailhead can be found at the large parking area across from the candy store on the Ortega Hwy. The upper trailhead is at the east end of Blue Jay Campground. San Juan Loop Trail has wonderful displays of spring wildflowers. Note: trailheads are not signed.

Directions: From Lake Elsinore, CA, Travel southwest on Hwy. 74 venturing into the mountains, then passing the Visitor Center / Fire Station in El Cariso. Proceed another 3.6 miles on Hwy. 74 to reach the parking for San Juan Loop. (Trailhead is half a mile north of Upper San Juan Campground.)
