The 7.0 mile Verdugo Trail is located south of Sitton Peak traveling between Four Corners and Oak Flats Trail. It is moderately difficult. The Oak Flats area is a broad area of oaks and grasses offering beautiful displays of spring wildflowers. The trail offers access to the western and southern trails of San Mateo Canyon Wilderness.

Directions: From Lake Elsinore, CA, Travel southwest on Highway 74 venturing into the mountains, then passing the Visitor Center / Fire Station in El Cariso. Proceed another 3.6 miles on Hwy. 74 to reach trailhead parking. Take Bear Canyon Loop west to Four Corners (beginning of Verdugo Trail).
