This well-known and celebrated restaurant enjoys a prime location on Vernazza's lively harborside square. Family-owned for generations, their creative menu incorporates traditional local cooking with fresh seafood caught from the Gulf of Spezia, as well as some fish from colder seas in Northern Europe. They serve up hard-to-find dishes such as acchiughe (fresh anchovies) baked with onions and potatoes and ravioli di pesci (a delicate fish ravioli), as well as mussels grown on farms in the area. Top your meal off with a glass of sciacchetrà (the local sweet wine) accompanied by homemade fried sweet milk. The stone-walled and stone-floored restaurant is painted in colors inspired by the famous red of the old houses in Liguria, and there is outside seating in the summertime on tables bursting with fresh flowers. The owners also rent out four colorful and modern apartments.
