The Bay Islands College of Diving (BICD) is a full-service PADI Instructor Development Center with classroom and pool training facilities. It offers all levels of dive training, from open-water certification to instructor classes and technical diving. BICD also does daily, guided dive trips around Utila starting at $27.50 per dive. Whale shark snorkeling excursions happen in spring and fall. Expert divers can take advantage of the center's deep-dive nitrox tanks and training. BICD operates the only trauma center and diving medical center on Utila, complete with a hyperbaric recompression chamber.
