The wall dives at Glover's Reef have been a must-hit for divers ever since scuba tanks first bubbled in these waters. And consensus says the wall at Long Caye is the best of the best. The sheer drop-off delves into water so deep it looks purple, with the seafloor some 2,000 feet below. The remote location means you'll see nary a soul in the overflowing gardens of coral, elephant ear and barrel sponges, sea fans, and gorgonians. A healthy mix of tropical reef fishes and larger, open-ocean species populates the sun-drenched top of the wall. It's a long haul to get here, but many of the Stann Creek District dive operators make the trek once a week or so. The experience can be adjusted to fit all skill levels. Beginners can hang out on the top of the wall, while more experienced divers can drop over the edge.
