Ramseys Draft Trail is a 13 mile round-trip trail that is blazed in blue. The trail is moderately difficult through a beautiful forest of aged hemlock, oak and ash with an understory abundant with mosses and lichens. The trail begins along an old road offering interpretive signs for the first mile. At 3.5 miles, the road forks. Taking a right at the fork, leads to sights of exceptional beauty. At 5.4 miles, Spring House Trail intersects at the top of the ridge. You may continue on to 5.6 miles along the Hardscrabble Knob Trail which takes you to a height of 4,282 feet. At this point you will want to turn around and head back down Ramseys Draft.

Directions: From Staunton, VA, Take U.S. 250 west for approximately 10-12 miles to a recreation area on your left. Park there and cross the road to begin at the trailhead.

Elevation: 4,282 feet

Elevation Gain: 1,600 feet

Difficulty: Strenuous
